The majority of the knitting on these lovely smocked mitts is done inside-out and from the top to the bottom. So, a little unusual, but very easy!
The pattern includes a link to a video tutorial on smocking and a photo tutorial about it.

Cherry Tree Hill Supersock Merino (100% merino wool; 420 yds / 384m per 113g skein); color: Peacock; 1 (1, 2) skein(s)
US #3 / 3.25mm needles
