This shawl is perfect to wear as a warm covering for a special occasion.

This shawl is designed with a square shape.

When worn the shawl falls around your shoulders to look like a floaty cape.

Knit with two different yarn weights, including hand-dyed yarn with two strands together and three strands together for a slightly heavier look.

Yarn

Yarn A - 1 x Cascade 220 (Mystic Purple - 2450) (600m)
Yarn B - 2 x Ring A Rosie Yarns (Stargazer 4ply) (800m)
Yarn C - 1 x Cascade 220 (Heather - 2420) (200m)
Yarn D - 1 x Cascade 220 (Regal - 7807) (200m)

Total meters = 1800m

The Cascade 220 yarn is an Aran/Worsted/10 Ply yarn weight.
100% Peruvian Highland Wool.

Stargazer from Ring A Rosie is a fingering weight hand-dyed yarn.

75% SW Merino/20% Nylon/5% Stellina Sparkle.

Needles

8mm (US 11) knitting needles.

I used my interchangeable circular needles on a 100cm/40″ cable.

I did not join in the round to knit the shawl or hood.

The shawl is worked back and forth on the needles - knit flat.

The long cable was used to accommodate the number of stitches.

Shawl Measurements

Length tip to tip (wingspan) = 52 inches/132 cm.
Width at the widest point = 28 inches/71 cm.

Please note - the length and width of the shawl can be made longer/wider by adding more yarn.

Hood Measurements

The hood is to fit an adult and measures 11 inches/28 cm in depth and 12 inches/30 cm in height.
