Squared out

This pattern is made using overlay mosaic crochet in the round.
It might look difficult, but only consists of dc’s and sc’s.
As it is worked in the round, there are no ends to weave in and no joining of motifs.

The pattern includes both charts and written instructions with photos included to help you make a square blanket like shown on the pictures. The blanket is worked in the round, 1 round at a time. Use it to make a blanket, or make a couple of beautiful pillows!

The pattern also includes a chart for doing the blanket in rows. If you want to do it in rows, this requires a knowledge of the basics of overlay mosaic in rows. I have included a quick explanation in the pattern, but I am not going into depths on how to do it in rows, as this pattern focuses on doing it in the round. Overlay mosaic in rows is pretty straight forward, and there are a lot of help on YouTube if you want to learn the basics.
With the pattern in rows you can create a colourful blanket, or go smaller and make a pretty scarf!

Yarn used:
For this particular blanket I have used:

  • 1 x Scheepjes whirl in the colourway Jumpin Jelly.
  • 4 x Scheepjes whirlette in the colourway Liquorice.
  • 2 x Scheepjes whirlette in the colourway Ice.

The blanket can be made in any yarn you like. If you use thicker or thinner yarn, the finished size will vary, but the proportions will stay the same.
