Squashy Cats
Make yourself a cute, fun, squashy cat friend! Pattern includes instructions on how to make the regular full-sized version as well as two mini versions: keychains and catnip toys. The pattern is very picture heavy so if you’re printing it I recommend printing in B&W to save on ink.
Skills needed:
KFB (knit front and back)
K2tog (knit 2 together)
3 needle bind off
Sewing pieces together
Materials:
• Double pointed needles or long circular needles for magic loop. Choose a size at least 2-3 sizes smaller than what your yarn calls for to make sure the stuffing doesn’t peek through. I use US size 4 DPNs on my full-sized cats and US size 3 for my mini keychain/catnip cats.
• Yarn of your choice – you only need a small amount for these kitties! I use worsted or sport weight with the needle sizes listed above.
• Safety eyes & nose (except for catnip toys). Keychains use kawaii eyes.
• Stuffing (fiberfill, or yarn scraps for catnip toys).
• Full-sized cats: pipe cleaner (for a bendable tail).
• Tapestry needle.
• Stitch marker.
• Optional: catnip if making catnip toys.
• Optional: keychain with chain for keychain cats
