Squirrel
This simple pattern includes PDF file with detailed instructions and pictures on how to crochet and assemble all the parts to make this Squirrel.
It contains:
- 16 pages
- 44 high quality pictures and 1 scheme
- step by step description
- 6 video instructions
Basic crocheting skills will be needed to make this pattern.
Final size of the toy with the indicated materials and tools ~ 9.5cm (3.7 inches).
Materials and tools:
- Any mohair yarn or any fluffy yarn approx. 10 - 15gr of main color.
- Approx. 5 - 10gr of contrast color for the upper part of the tail, the tips of the feet and the contour of the ears.
- Some white for the abdomen and muzzle. I used 1 Kid mohair yarn 100gr / 900mt and 1 Alize Angora Special yarn 100 gr / 550 mt simultaneously. You can use Kid Mohair Yarn, 100gr / 900-1000mt crochet grabbing 3 yarns simultaneously.
- Some white yarn for the eyelids – acrylic or woolen yarn.
- Polymer clay of appropriate color for nose (you will bake it) or some yarn of appropriate color (I used Alize Angora Special yarn 100 gr / 550 mt for a gray squirrel).
- Acrylic glossy varnish for the nose (optionally).
- A strong thread for the sculpting and sewing (for example, a reinforced thread).
- Toy stuffing (hollow fiber or other synthetic fiber).
- Toy eyes of a suitable size approx d. 0.6cm (you can use round beads instead).
- D. ~0.3mm floristic wire ~25 cm length for the tail.
- Size 1.5mm crochet hook. I recommend you to use a smaller hook, than indicated on the yarn, the work should be crocheted tight, so there will be no gaps between the stitches.
- Small sharp scissors with a plain nose to cut (you can use the manicure scissors).
- A long needle for sewing and sculpting, a tapestry needle.
- Velcro tape, a rough metal brush or a slicker brush – to brush the toy.
- A metal comb and a brush for eyelashes or a toothbrush for combing and synthetic thin brush.
- Soft pastel, or art markers to tint the toy, and a palette.
- A black permanent marker and vanishing fabric marker (optionally).
- Sculpting tools (optionally), wooden toothpicks.
