Squirrel Nutkin
by S Oakes
“THIS is a Tale about a tail -- a tail that belonged to a little red squirrel, and his name was Nutkin. He had a brother called Twinkleberry, and a great many cousins: they lived in a wood at the edge of a lake.”
Of all Ms. Potter’s stories, my son loves the Tale of Squirrel Nutkin the most. So when a friend asked me to design a squirrel, I chose to base my pattern on her classic illustrations.
The squirrel produced from this pattern is about 5” tall, fits well in the palm of your hand, and can stand alone without falling over.
