These are cuff down spiral socks made with DK weight yarn. If you aren’t familiar with what a spiral sock is note that there is no heel in these socks. The spiraling affect of the pattern helps the sock to fit nicely around the heel.

This is fun way to make socks if you are just wanting something different to make! But I have found that they are great for kid’s socks because kid’s feet are constantly growing and having no heel in these means there is room for them to grow. Also these are wonderful socks for gift knitting because you don’t have to worry about and exact foot length since there is no heel. Since the yarn is thicker they also knit up quicker which is nice for gift knitting.
