Squishy Cuddles Shrug
This shrug is a project that can be done over a weekend. As it is a free-size garment, feel free to play with different types of yarn. This pattern is based on a 10ply/Aran weight yarn with a total meterage of 625m. Gauge is not important.
I have experimented with holding a 4ply/sock and mohair together, using a 10ply cotton, and using a 4ply alpaca and sock together. The results are all lovely and variances in sizing of the finished product are a few cm. If you decide to use a 4ply or sock yarn, you will need 425m. Some 100g skeins only have 400m so be mindful when choosing your yarn and don’t get caught out like I did!
If you are wanting to use an 8ply/DK yarn, change the hook to a 4mm and do a foundation chain of 220 and do an extra repeat of the pattern. I estimate you will need 400g.
You can adjust the sizing if you are wanting an extra small or large size by adjusting your foundation chain by 12.
Have fun choosing your yarns and enjoy making!
