Everyone has that unique skein of sock yarn that you want to use on something special besides socks. I designed this cowl to fit the bill, and I even had enough leftover to make a pair of fingerless mitts.
The simple knit & purl stitch pattern works well with solid or variegated yarn, and anything in between.
Experience with knitting in the round is recommended. For the mitts, you need to know how to knit in the round with double pointed needles, 2 circular needles or 1 long circular.
Included in the pattern are photos, a complete list of abbreviations and a stitch glossary.
This cowl is worked in the round in an easy to memorize, eight row repeat stitch pattern, using only knit and purl stitches. The shaping and drape are created by changing the needle size. The mitts are worked in the round with thumb gussets.
