Pattern updated September 2021 to improve fit and to include six sizes instead of four. All pattern sales still donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Available on Lovecrafts and Payhip.

The Taryn Beanie is named after a little girl I know that, thanks to God and to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, has overcome cancer. In honor of brave Taryn and other children like her, all proceeds from this pattern (every cent not needed for listing fees) are donated to St. Jude.

This beanie is a great project for an advanced beginner knitter, and can be worked up while watching television or carrying on a conversation. It is written for four sizes: Adult, Child/Young Teen, Toddler/Young Child, and Infant.

The central feature in this hat is a panel of climbing Extended Dandelion Stitches, symbolic of hope. There is a step-by-step explanation of this stitch in the written pattern, as well as a link to a video tutorial I created to demonstrate this stitch.

This pattern is written for worsted weight yarn, but can be easily modified to be worked up in any weight you wish. (My current favorite is to knit it up with two strands of fingering/sock weight, but I will be trying bulky yarn next!) With any yarn weight change, there will need to be a recalculation at the decrease section.

You may absolutely sell pieces you make using this pattern! Please tag my shop in any online sales, and be sure to charge well for your handiwork.

DONATION RECORDS: Honesty and integrity are so important. In the spirit of full transparency, records of contributions to St. Jude are available upon request (with all sensitive information censored).
