St. Patrick's Day Lucky Baby Gnomes
These lucky Baby Gnomes are ready to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! They stand only six and a quarter inches tall to the tip of their hats. One is carrying a lucky shamrock and one is wearing a fake beard (he’s too young to grow his own). Samples were made in worsted weight yarn, but you could make them in any gauge by adjusting the yarn weight and needle size. A quick project, and a good way to use small amounts of yarn.
Gnome is knitted in the round. Shamrock is knitted flat.
A flat metal washer is inserted before closing up the bottom to add weight and help the gnome stand. If this will be a toy, do not insert the washer.
Gnome hat and body are knitted together. The only sewing at the end of construction is to attach the arms and shamrock.
