St. Patrick's Day Pot of Gold mosaic square
Top o’ the Morning! Stitch up this cute Pot of Gold square in overlay mosaic crochet that can be used in other types of projects, such as block afghans, pillows, tote bags, table mats, etc. Check out some of my other St. Paddy’s day patterns including a shamrock, Leprechaun’s hat, and a Beer Stein!
Any yarn or hook will work, depending on the desired size of the finished square. I used yarn weight of 4 with a 5.5 hook, which creates a square of 13.5” x 13”. Using a different yarn weight & hook size will create a different sized square.
This is a great way to use up scraps! The colors in the sample image were mainly from my scraps stash. Most of the design was done in the A rows (black pot, gold & rainbow), and the A rows used approximate 100 yards total (2 oz) of med weight #4 yarn. The B rows made up the background (grass & sky) and also uses approximate 100 yards (2 oz).
Pattern is in US crochet terms.
