Stack is a scarf which plays with a traditional Shetland lace motif called Broken Acre. Here, the basic motif is used for texture, and creates a stacking pattern on a stocking stitch background.

I worked my scarf in Baa Ram Ewe Titus, and used approx 110g which means I needed two skeins. If you can get mini skeins in your chosen colour, you should have enough with one 100g skein and a couple of mini skeins. The finished scarf is approx 35cm / 14” wide and 140cm / 55” long. Of course, you could make yours longer if you prefer.

The pattern for the start of the scarf varies subtly to that at the finish. Both charts are given in the text of the pattern, and in larger size on the last two pages. Written instructions for the basic lace motif are given too. A scheme for adding more textured sections is given as a suggested variation. I found stitch markers really useful, and the pattern includes recommended placements for them.
