Stacked stag-horn baby sweater (worsted weight)
The stacked stag-horn baby sweater is a snuggly classic easy drop-shoulder pull-over with an elegant cable adorning the front.
Finished measurement: approximately 18.75”
Yarn: about 240yd of any springy worsted weight will do. The large cables (you’re crossing six stitches at a time) mean that an animal fiber will be your best bet because of the elasticity.
NOTE: The most recent version of the pattern includes a different method for working increase that is much cleaner and more attractive. I have also added charts. If you downloaded this file prior to February 21, 2014, please re-download it.
ERRATA: I have corrected the cable-panel instructions. If you downloaded the file prior to February 16, 2014, please re-download it to get the corrected file.
A correction for the shoulder decreases follows and will be incorporated in the next publishing:
Wearer’s right shoulder (if you’re looking at the front of the sweater, it will be the left side):
Row 1 (purl row): p6, k2, p2, ssp, p1
Row 2 (knit row): k1, ssk, k1, p2, k6
Row 3: p6, k2, ssp, p1
Row 4: k1, ssk, p1, k6
Row 5: p6, ssp, p1
Row 6: k1, ssk, k5 -- 7 sts remain
Knit in stockinette until the divided shoulder measures 2” -- 10.5” from cast-on edge.
Wearer’s left shoulder:
Row 1 (purl row): p1, p2tog, p2, k2, p6
Row 2 (knit row): k6, p2, k1, k2tog, k1
Row 3: p1, p2tog, k2, p6
Row 4: k6, p1, k2tog, k1
Row 5: p1, p2tog, p6
Row 6: k5, k2tog, k1*

Currently, only a 6-month size is available but I am working on sizing it up. If you would like to test-knit a larger size, please PM me.
