This pattern is for a washcloth, but the stitch pattern can be adapted to anything you like, such as a scarf or blanket. You should also be able to accommodate any weight yarn and any size hook.

The washcloth is made by repeating two pattern rows that are easy to memorize, so this cloth works up quickly. Stitches required are sc, hdc, and dc. You should also be familiar with the terms yarn over and pulling up a loop. Tutorials for all these are readily available online.
