The Stacy Sunhat was inspired by several things, my friend whom it’s named for, her being a thyroid cancer survivor, and nature.

As a designer participating in the 2021 Cancer Hat Challenge hosted by My Sweet Potato 3 Patterns Ravelry Store, it gave me a chance to learn more about my friend’s experience. My friend also loves digging in the dirt in her garden, so a sunhat seemed to be a natural choice. I added a little southern charm with the brim size.

Child: to fit head circumference 19” 48.2 cm
Teen: to fit head circumference 21” 53.3 cm
Adult: to fit head circumference 22” 55.9 cm

Pliers for cutting wire
