Stadtschal
I fell in love with Ito Sensai - I love the featherweight texture, its softness and the bright colours.
So I thought about a pattern that would underline these features and would be easy and fun to knit.
This shawl is made in sections of five different colours. Each colour is knit separately. while short rows create the diagonal stripes.
I named the pattern “Stadtschal” (city scarf) as it is a perfect match for my “Stadtmantel” (city coat) which is my favourite coat on cool autumn days. The scarf will keep your neck warm and cosy without being heavy - perfect for city walks or shopping tours. The luxurious material perfectly goes with an urban environment.
The pattern is written for a finished width of 40 cm, but can easily adapted for an increased width (might involve additional supplies of yarn)
To work the scarf in the original size, you will need 5 colurs of yarn, one skein per colour, 4 or 4.5 mm needles and a darning needle to weave in ends.
The pattern will work both with colours of the same family, or with contrasting colours - feel free to choose your favourite combination.
It will be superlight to wear but keep your neck warm and cosy.
Enjoy!
