Technique: Overlay Mosaic and Interlocking Filet crochet with diagonals in the round or row by row
Skill level: Intermediate or advanced
This is a “never ending” pattern. It can be used to make a blanket of any size. The blanket is square if it is crocheted in the round from the center, or rectangular if it is crocheted in rows bottom up.
You could also make as many small squares (37x37 stitches / 18x18 filet windows) as you need and join them into a large blanket. You will find all these options in the written pattern.
for a square of 5x5 motifs:
Yarn: for example, Scheepjes Stone Washed
Yardage: approx. 1150 m of C1 yarn, 1300 m of C2 yarn. (1258 yds and 1422 yds)
Size: approx. 82x82 cm (181x181 stitches, 32½x32½ inches)
Yarn: for example, Scheepjes Whirl, Whirlette
Yardage: approx. 750 m of C1 yarn, 850 m of C2 yarn. (820 yds and 930 yds)
Size: approx. 62x62cm (181x181 stitches, 24½x24½ inches).
I made video tutorials for first rows of overlay mosaic in the round, interlocking filet in the round and interlocking filet row by row. You will find the links in the written pattern.
