I recently boxed in a gas meter by the front door and wanted a mat to protect the surface from everything we dumped on in whenever we entered the house (keys, post, you name it!). I fancied having a stained glass effect in the hall but couldn’t find many patterns written up that created that effect.

This is the one I made up in the end. It’s a repeating pattern so can be made as long or as wide as you need - the colours are semi-random (ahem) but again that can be changed depending on how structured you’d like it to be.
