First in the Glass Collection of short row centric patterns, Stained Glass is a shawlette designed to use colour to play off the shaping that short rows can provide as a design feature. Built from the bottom up, with 4 large wedges of short rows that curve upwards and outwards on the outer edge from the shawl point. This shawlette is a quick but fantastic project for yourself and for gifting.

There are several options to building your shawlette, which allow you to make both colour and style choices, making your own shawlette completely unique, you never need have the same finished design when knitting this pattern more than once. There are two different versions of this pattern in separate files to make for easy reading and following.

This design is predominantly knitted out of short rows and as such it is recommended that you are comfortable with working them, specifically German short rows, which are the suggested method (there is a link to a tutorial and an overview of the technique in the pattern). However once you settle into the pattern, the flow is very intuitive and a fun knit.
