This woven crochet technique is lots of fun! The hot pad and coaster are quick and easy to make. You can use worsted weight cotton yarn or size 3 cotton crochet thread. These are great to protect your countertop or table from the heat of hot dishes or the moisture of sweating glasses! They make great gifts for any occasion, too. What a wonderful project to do with your children or grandchildren!

The pattern includes complete written directions, as well as weaving charts for both the hot pad and coaster. Many step-by-step and close up photos are also included. The coaster is made with size 3 crochet thread and size D (3.25mm) hook, but the hot pad can be made with either size 3 crochet thread (and D hook) or worsted weight cotton yarn and size 7 (4.5mm) hook.
