Be prepared for winter with this beautiful Fair Isle afghan accented by a border of tulips! Stairway to Heaven was inspired by two Fair Isle patterns each edged with a deeply textured twist stitch and finished with a lace and tulip patterned border. It will be the centerpiece of any room.

SKILL LEVEL: Previous experience working with colorwork designs is advised. Fair Isle color pattern is color charted for ease of reading and instructions for border are in both written and chart format. Detailed instructions feature both written and charts for knitting in rounds with a steek or flat knitting in rows.

PATTERN CONSTRUCTION: Knitting begins with the center panel worked in stockinette stitch with a two-color Fair Isle pattern knitted on the right side of work if working in rounds or purled on the wrong side of work if knitted flat. Color coded charts have been provided for ease of knitting.

Once the center Fair Isle design has been completed the edge stitches are picked-up and the beautiful Tulip border is worked in rounds.
