INSPIRATION
Last year around this time, I craved a comfy cardigan with a deep ribbed collar that I could just throw on, and after I saw Miss Babs new line - Cupcake, I was sold:) This is how Staple Cardigan was born:) I added twisted stitch elbow patches because let’s face it, they are super useful and this version is subtle enough not to look like a utility jacket.

Miss Babs Cupcake – 89% merino wool, 11% acrylic; 230 yards (210 m) per 100 g (3.53 oz) skein
1265(1415, 1565, 1715, 1890), (2065, 2240, 2440, 2640) yards

MEASUREMENTS
The cardigan measures:
A: Bust Circumference – 40.8” (44.4”, 48”, 51.6”, 56.2”), (59.4”, 64”, 67.6”, 71.2”) with fronts folded over each other or size 1 (2, 3, 4, 5), (6, 7, 8, 9)

RECOMMENDED EASE
The cardigan is designed to have 6”-8” of positive ease at the bust meaning it’s designed to be 6”-8” larger than your actual bust with fronts closed. The sample shown in the first photo is size 1 worn with 8” positive ease.

NEEDLES
US#6/4.00 mm – 16”/40cm, 24”/60cm (2 pairs or spare IC cable) and 39”/100cm needles circular needles for shawl collar; 12”/30cm circular needles or DPNs for sleeves for smaller sizes.

TOOLS
Two pieces of scrap yarn, several markers (4 removable), tapestry needle for weaving in ends, row counter(optional)

GAUGE
20 sts/28 rows per 4” square using US#6/4.00mm needles post blocking or size needles to obtain gauge
