When knit of #10 crochet cotton on size 0 needles, the Diamond 47 series creates a miniature symbol, suitable for use as an ornament. Finished size is 3 1/2” x 3 1/2” (9 cm x 9 cm) measured as a square; 5” x 5” (12.5 cm x 12.5 cm) tip to tip, measured as a diamond. Stay posted for other gauge options!

Design is presented both in chart and written instruction format.

Humans have always been inspired by the distant stars dotting the vast night sky. Stars reflect the eternal war between light and darkness, spirit and material world. Stars are common symbols in the world’s religions. They appear frequently in the Old and New Testaments. In Islamic tradition, the star signifies divinity and dominance. In Chinese tradition, along with the sun and moon, the star represents spiritual wisdom. They are used to indicate authority (“five-star general”), excellence (“five-star rating”), and striving (“reach for the stars”). Stars are our guiding lights, a symbol of divine guidance.

The knitting itself is not complicated, but it is important to count and follow chart (or written instructions) accurately. The knitting is basic; the chart following is basic (for a given row, all stitches are on one chart); and the chart management is basic (entire design is on one chart).

Charts and written instructions were created using Stitchmastery software.
