This simple spark of joy is such a versatile little pattern!
Taking under ten minutes, and using just a few metres of yarn, there’s so much to love about this one.
If you leave it unblocked it becomes a flower; if you give it a quick steam blocking, it becomes a cute little star.
Great for garlands, baby mobiles, gift or card toppers for Christmas, birthdays or any other special occasion. Also a fantastic little pattern to use as a Random Act of Kindness.
Attach a positive note of encouragement, and leave somewhere for a stranger to find and take home with them.
You could experiment with any yarn for these Star Flowers. The pattern should work with most yarn weights, using the corresponding hook size.
This pattern is also a sweet way to use up those small amounts of leftover hand dyed or other yarns that you might have sitting in your stash!
Hook size:
3.25mm (US D-3) for 4 ply (fingering/ Super Fine #1) weight yarn
Notions:
Scissors
Yarn needle
Gauge:
Using 3.25mm hook with Louie and Lola Merino Silk Cashmere; one blocked star motif = 6cm wide (2.3in), measured from point to point.
