Star Jasmine Cardigan
Enjoy 20% intro discount with the code 20off till the end of the day Sunday, March 9th.
Inspired by traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirts, vyshyvankas, this sweater features richly decorated voluminous sleeves and a straight silhouette. The design joins the Star Jasmine family that already has a pullover, a shawl, and a headband pattern.
The cardigan is knit seamlessly from the top down with raglan shaping. The decorative button band is worked at the same time with the stockinette body. The top of the sleeves is embellished with Estonian braids and nupps, while the rest is mostly composed of 3x1 rib with dip stitches worked once in a few rows. The sleeves are gently rounded before the cuff. Straight body is finished off with a folded hem.
Stitch patterns for the button band and sleeves are both charted and written out. Videos for nupps, Estonian braids, folded hem, and Star Jasmine stitch are provided.

Construction
-
The sweater is knit from the top down seamlessly with the raglan shaping.
-
The collar is worked as a ribbon, two ends of which then become the right and left side button bands. From the collar, the cardigan is worked in one piece until the separation of the sleeves, button band included. Increases along the button band form the V-neck opening.
-
Once the sleeves are separated, the body is worked in one piece and finished with folded hem.
-
Sleeves are worked in the round in a variety of patterns. Increases add volume at the top of the sleeves, and gentle decreases shape the bottom at the cuffs. The cuffs are completed in half twisted rib to echo Estonian braids.
