Star Ladder Scarf
This scarf is a lot simpler than it looks - it is made up of a series of diagonally offset wedges, forming a ladder.
It is worked in lace weight yarn on 3.5mm needles to create a very open fabric with a wispy, ethereal look. The exact gauge does not matter. Fingering weight yarn can be used to make a more substantial scarf. Beads may be added.
Difficulty: Intermediate. Includes basic lace techniques, short rows, and mid-row cable cast-on.
Additional materials Large needle for weaving in ends.
If using beads, you need 340 to 408 beads depending on length of scarf (34 beads per wedge), plus about 30 cm/1 foot of thin fishing line.
Pattern format Charted with accompanying written instructions. It should be possible to knit this scarf without using the charts, but being able to read charts will help.
