Star Soap Stasher
PATTERN INTRODUCTION
Cotton yarn is lovely for creating textured pieces. I made this soap bag for myself as a means of cutting back on soap in plastic bottles, and the eyelet design allows for a great lather.
FINISHED SIZE IN INCHES
width while laid flat: small= 2 3/4”, medium= 3”, large= 3 1/2”
length: 5” all sizes
YOU WILL NEED
Four size US 5 (3 3/4 mm) double pointed, or circular knitting needles
Cotton yarn- I used Lily Sugar ‘n Cream, approximately 20-25 yds
Tapestry needle to sew in tails
Scissors
SKILLS AND ABBREVIATIONS
backwards loop cast-on, yarn over twice, dropping stitches, joining in the round, knitting in the round, wrapping stitches, lace-like or eyelet stitch, kitchener stitch bind off, braiding yarn
k= knit p= purl, WS= wrong side, or side of the work that will be facing inward, RS= right side, or side of the work that will be facing outward, sl1k= slip one stitch in knit, yo twice= yarn over twice, ndl= needle, pm= place marker, y2b= yarn to back of the work, K2TOG= knit two stitches together, sl= slip, yf+K2TOG= yarn forward and knit two stitches together
