Notions

Gauge
Since this is a cowl, gauge isn’t super important in achieving. However, you should try to get as close as possible. The closer you are to gauge, the closer you are to using the estimated yarn yardage / meterage and dimensions.

Fingering Weight:
28 sts, 28 rounds = 4” in Chart when worked in the round after blocking.
DK Weight:
20 sts, 20 rounds = 4” in Chart when worked in the round after blocking.
Bulky Weight:
14 sts, 14 rounds = 4” in Chart when worked in the round after blocking.

Notes
The cowl is worked in the round, seamlessly. You will create a crochet provisional CO edge with a crochet hook and scrap yarn first. Then you will begin working the Chart for the cowl. Lastly, you will unzip the provisional CO and graft the last round and first round of the cowl together to form a tube.
The pattern is written for fingering weight, with dk and bulky weight in parenthesis.
