Starburst Mandala
This pattern is for a crochet mandala made using overlay techniques. I have called it The Starburst Mandala as I have based my design on my impressions of a beautiful star.
This pattern can be attached onto a hoop at the end and displayed as a stunning piece of art.
The PDF pattern is in a written format with many detailed pictures and lots of in depth information to guide you so that even if you have not tried this style of crochet before it is achievable. I have also added a conversion chart to basic UK terminology for your convenience within the pattern.
I recommend that you use a 4mm hook and DK weight acrylic or cotton yarn.
My tension is 5 rows of 5 SC will give you a 3cm x 3cm square.
My Starburst Mandala will fit a 12 inch hoop working to this tension.
You can change your hook and yarn size according to your preference and tension depending on your project plans.
You will need at least six colours (approximately less than 28 grams of each colour), a pair of scissors and a needle to weave in your ends.
