Starfish
Knit a Starfish using only three stitches: knit, a kfb increase, and a k2tog decrease. These combine to make garter stitch diamonds that are sewn together. If you use washable acrylic yarns this could be used as a bath toy, or knit one in glittery yarns to use as a celestial decoration.
Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the star is knitted in acrylic DK yarn on single pointed needles (not in the round).
NEEDLES
A pair of 3.75mm single pointed knitting needles (US 5).
RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in a Yellow shade.
NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, and buttons for eyes.
SIZES
One size only - 18cm wide (at the widest point).
TECHNIQUES
For beginners and above, other techniques used include seaming in mattress stitch to finish.
