Starflake
Starflake is a hexagon with a motif of a star on it that can be joined with others to make a blanket, a throw, a plaid or a shawl. It’s a first pattern of a Frozen Christmass series. The series consists of three free patterns published in winter 2020/2021 - Evening star, Starflake and Poinsettia.
The diameter of the hexagon is 31 cm (34 from corner to corner).
It’s an image overlay crochet pattern and uses Petranese as a system for description (named after Petra from Black sheep crochet) - quite logical and clear way of describing the stitch placement.
If you wanted to play with the size of the yarn, you can get a rug for your bedroom or your pet or for example a coaster for your Christmass table.
You wil need the following:
– a size 4 crochet hok
– 50g of a DK wight yarn – I’m using Merino from Vlnap (50g = 105m)
– stitch markers – it’s quite easy overlay crochet pattern, but if it’s a new technique for you, they can be usefull
