This shawl starts off knit in two parts, which I call wings, which are then joined. The remaining shawl is then knit from the joined wings. It can be made in any size, from a small shawlette to a large all enveloping shawl, and in any weight yarn. There is a further option for customization in the style of increases, which will change the amount of definition in the ‘V’ shaped increase lines.

Gauge: I made this in worsted, with 5 sts and 6 rows per inch, however it can be made in any weight. Choose an appropriate gauge for the desired yarn, loose enough to drape nicely.

Techniques: Short rows, Kitchener stitch, yarn overs, and decreases.

Supplies: Amount of yarn depends on the desired size. I used three skeins of worsted, for 660 yards, and made a medium sized shawl. Choose an appropriately size needle for your yarn. You will also need four stitch markers.
