By using a slipped stitch technique, this design makes it look like you have spent hours with a cable needle. Adding self striping yarn just makes this pattern more striking as it creates the illusion that you changed colours when really you have created it with one shade of self striping yarn. So again, with this design, you are able to easily create a masterpiece that looks like it took many more hours to create than it actually did.
