This is a pattern for a light weight wrap. It’s heavier than a shawl, but just the ideal weight for a spring or fall evening, or even if you’re sensitive to air conditioning in the summer. There are two distinct lace stitches that are incorporated in this wrap. The sample pictured here was made using two strands of lace weight yarn, held together: one a variegated color and the other, one of the colors contained within the variegated pattern. (Mixing yarns in this manner tends to mute the variegation slightly, but also avoids pooling and/or striping.) You could easily substitute a light weight sport yarn, or a heavy fingering weight yarn and have success with this pattern. There are also instructions for an optional edging contained within the pattern, should you want it edged. The yardage supplied to Ravelry in the “posting” assumes a sport weight yarn.

Skill Level: Intermediate + (assuming a a good working knowledge of lace knitting)

The yarn used in the sample is Lorna’s Laces Helen’s Lace in both Purple Iris and Blackberry.

This pattern was expertly tested by Rebecca Wood. (rkwood16@gmail.com), and is known on Ravelry as Rebs16.
