The Starlight Square is one of many in a collaborative project called the Creative Crossings Afghan, made as a thank you gift for Lorene Eppolite of Cre8tion Crochet for all of her inspiration, and for helping us grow our businesses.

When I was asked to participate in this collaborative project, I immediately thought of this square design. It invokes stability, beauty, and change, with a touch of whimsy. Lorene Eppolite from Cre8tion Crochet embodies all of this and more, and has been a strong leader and mentor.

I hope she enjoys the blanket we made for her, and I hope in our tribute to her, all of you may find inspiration as well.

This is an intermediate pattern that uses some unusual joining techniques and dropped row work. A determined beginner can do this!! It’s all about your concentration, not your skill!
