For traditional red / green version:
Yarn weight #4 (Worsted / Aran)
Scheepjes Chunky Monkey used in photographs:
100g / 116m in White (Shade 1001: White)
100g / 116m in Green (Shade 1116: Juniper)
For stars and trim;
Yarn weight #2 (4ply/ Fingering)
Scheepjes Catona used in photographs:
25g / 62m Mercerised cotton yarn (Shade 115: Hot Red)
Scheepjes Lizzy used in photographs:
25g / 101m Viscose / Metallic Chainette (Shade 004 Red)
For modern blue / white version:
100g / 116m in White (Shade 1001: White)
100g / 116m in Blue (Shade 1708: Petrol)
For stars and trim;
25g / 62m Mercerised cotton yarn (Shade 172: Light Silver)
25g / 101m Viscose / Metallic Chainette (Shade 002 Silver)
Hook: 5 mm (US size H/8) and 3mm (US size D/3)
If you know you crochet at a looser tension you may wish to use a 4.5mm (US size 7) for the main body of the stocking and a 2.5mm (US size C/2) for the stars and trim.
You will also need:
Scissors
Stitch markers
An extra large yarn needle
10 x 10mm bells (either gold or silver)
Sewing thread and needle in corresponding stocking colour for the bells.
