Growing up on Montesano Ave., in a modest home with meticulously kept landscaping, my father and I could often be found, in the middle of the night, on our front steps stargazing. He’d help me find the big and small dippers and he’d joke about the man on the moon, all while the rest of the neighborhood was fast asleep. A magical memory. Even now, I often gaze up to the dark summer sky searching the stars as we did way back then, the only difference is dad now resides up there amongst all those beautiful stars.

Introduction
This is a triangle shawl knit from the bottom up. It was designed to be knit with zebra fingering and a coordinating tonal but other fingering yarns can be used. The pattern includes two versions, both are comprised of striped garter rows, seed stitch and lace sections with optional beading. This is advanced beginner to intermediate knitting, it is not complicated but you’ll need to follow directions closely.

Version 1: Depicts shrubs, houses and stars in the three lace sections (directions: pages 2-6, photos: pages 2 & 4).
Version 2: Depicts stars in all three lace sections (directions: pages 6-11, photos: pages 7 & 10).
