Starstruck Shawl
The Starstruck Shawl has a beautifully elegant, lacy design making it the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe. Whether you’re attending a garden party or enjoying a sunset stroll, the Starstruck Shawl will add a touch of sophistication to any outfit.
A FREE video tutorial showing you how to make the shawl is available here:

The shawl is crafted from 129 gorgeous little lacy stars. Each star is very easy to make and has just four rounds of crochet, so they’re a breeze to hook up.
The stars are joined together using a join-as-you-go method in the final round of each star, so you can really see your shawl growing as you make and add each star to it.
The written pattern includes full instructions, a schematic diagram, and comprehensive pattern notes for making the shawl. It is provided in both UK and US crochet terms.
This project would be suitable for a beginner with experience of the basic stitches, or an intermediate crocheter.
SIZE
The finished shawl is trapezium in shape. Its longest edge measures 219 cm and it has a width of 42 cm.
However, you can easily adjust the size and shape of the shawl to whatever you like by changing the number of rows of stars, and the number of stars in each row. This is explained in the pattern.
YARN
Hobbii Friends Cotton Linen (4 ply; 160m / 50g ball; 50% cotton, 35% viscose, 15% linen):
- 6 balls of Tomato/Dark Magenta (06) – total yardage 960 m (1044 yards)
Alternative yarns
You could use other 4 ply or fingering weight yarns, such as Scheepjes Whirl or Whirlette, or even a DK yarn (with a larger hook). I would suggest using a yarn with a high proportion of cotton and/or linen content to ensure smooth stitches with good definition.
Crochet level: competent beginner to intermediate.
