Techniques Used:
- Stockinette Stitch
- I-Cord
- 3-Needle Bind Off
- Fold Over Edge
- Jogless Stripes
- Duplicate Stitch
Additional Notes:
I-Cord
The length of the I-cord can be adjusted based on your preference. You can make it longer or shorter as needed.
It’s best to feed the I-cord through the folded edge as you knit it to avoid having to thread it through at the end when the fold is completely closed.
Adjusting the Size
You can easily adjust the size of the tote to make it larger or smaller. Simply change the number of stitches cast on for a larger width (ensure it’s an even number and the drawstring holes will need to be adjusted), or the number of rows knit for the desired depth.
Color/Pattern Options
This pattern offers two options: a two-color or three-color tote, and a bonus Christmas Tree pattern with duplicate stitch! However, feel free to use as many colors as you like to use up your yarn scraps. The sample totes shown were made using leftover scraps from previous projects like beanies and headbands and reflect the amount of yarn required to make the tote to pattern.
Happy Knitting!
