This pattern is for a poncho that is worked as a wrap/shawl and then buttons are added to create the poncho look.

The idea is to use up as much old “scraps” of yarn as possible, which would otherwise go unused.

Fringe is completely optional but I feel it really completes the look of the poncho.

The tiny bit of crochet is also completely optional but I think it makes the top edge alot sturdier and provides nice button holes.

There is really no set yardage requirements because you’re stripping so if you run out of a certain yarn, you stop that color and start another.

I used a size 10.5 (US) needle and a size I (5.5mm) crochet hook.

As far as the yarn goes, I feel the “funkier” and more textured the yarn the more fun it’ll turn out. I used fun fur, regular yarn, bobble yarn, etc.

Just have fun with it!
