Hi Folks!

Thanks for checking out the Stasis wrap! This large, two-color, rectangular wrap is a relaxing knit composed primarily of garter stitch, so it knits up pretty quickly. It isn’t too intensive, and it’s a great project to work on while multi-tasking. Constructed by joining smaller pieces, each half of the wrap is knit separately. The halves are then combined, and the center of the piece is filled in. The final product is a wonderfully large and symmetric rectangular wrap. It makes a perfect, heavy winter shawl or over-sized scarf.

Note: The construction of this wrap can be a little tricky. It is important to pay close attention to the schematic and understand how the sections fit together first. There is also a photo tutorial included for the most difficult construction aspect.

Additional Note: There is an optional part to add extra stripes in the center of the shawl. For the sample shown, I added a few of these stripes. I used a kitchen scale to ensure I had the yarn necessary.

Here’s a quick summary of the pattern based on the original sample:
Dimensions:
-- 84 in (213 cm) in length
-- 18 in (46 cm) in depth
Yarn Requirements:
-- 1600 to 1800 yards of fingering-weight yarn
-- The sample shown used 4 skeins of Yarn Indulgences Zed Luxe Sock (2 in Mixology and 2 in Orchid)
Needles:
-- Two 3.25 mm (US 3) circular needles (24-inch or larger recommended)
-- 3.25 mm (US 3) double-pointed needles (Optional)
-- Any circular needle of the same or smaller size to hold stitches when not knitting them
-- Any straight needles of the same or smaller size to hold stitches during the Joining process
Gauge:
-- 24 sts by 48 rows = 4 in by 4 in (10 cm by 10 cm) in garter stitch after blocking
Other Materials:
-- Stitch markers
-- Cable needle (optional)
-- Tapestry needle to weave in ends
