In the spirit of Christmas cheer, all patterns in my Ravelry store (including Tintinnabula!) are 25% through December 25th, no coupon code needed!

When my brother began attending classes at Mississippi State University, his first request was for a hat to keep his head warm while ringing his cowbell at football games and walking around campus. I chose the medium of double knitting for a few reasons. The double thickness adds additional warmth, while the double knitting removes the need for floats that are created with traditional stranded knitting and produces a reversible item.

This pattern is easily adapted for your favorite college, university, or sports team with the provided blank template. Charts are included for Mississippi State University, Ohio State University, Baylor University, and Michigan State University.

Each sample was knit with fingering weight held double for a finished weight of DK. I recommend a wool or wool blend for added warmth and durability.
