State Street Cowl
Knit and purl stitches make endless stitch patterns. Even a sinple cowl worked in the round looks complex when knit stitches alternate with purls. Mirrored decreases combined with yarn over increases create diagnonal lines and changing to a larger needle halfway up shapes the cowl slightly.
Yarn weight: either one strand Puffin, super-bulky, or two strands of Owl to make super-bulky.
Please note that the Puffin sample for this cowl took all of two skeins--consider purchasing an extra skein for any differences in gauge.
For Owl version, Pam used 2 strands of Owl in the Hemlock colorway, held double throughout on size US 11 needles. Finished measurements are 28” in circumference and 10.5” deep; gauge is 12 sts and 16 rnds over 4”. Total number of skeins used was 3.
