Stay Cool Shortie Socks are just right for warmer months. Inspired by friendship bracelets, the colorwork design across the instep hugs to keep the sock in place. Gather up those odd balls or mini skeins of fingering weight yarn!

Stay Cool Shortie Socks has both toe-up and cuff-down versions & comes in three sizes. The heel is a short-row heel.

Stay Cool Shortie Socks pattern is written for sizes
6” (8”, 10”)/15.25 (20.3, 25.4) cm circumference, unstretched.

Yarn
2 skeins Cascade Heritage (75% Superwash Merino Wool/25% Nylon), Colorways: (MC) Dusky Coral (CC1) Golden Yellow - 437 yds. (400 m)/100 g.

1 skein Sweet Georgia Yarns Tough Love Sock (80% Superwash Merino Wool/20% Nylon) Colorway: (CC2) Saltwater - 425 yds. (388 m)/115 g.

Full skeins are not necessary to complete the project. Estimates for fingering yarn (by weight) are as follows:

6” size (48 sts.)
MC = 15 - 20 g
CC1 = 8 - 10 g
CC2 = 8 - 10 g

8” size (64 sts.)
MC = 20 - 25 g
CC1 = 15 - 22 g
CC2 = 12 g

10” size (80 sts.)
MC = 25 - 32 g
CC1 = 20 - 25 g
CC2 = 15 g

Gauge
8 sts and 10 rounds per 1” (2.5 cm) worked in the round.

Needles
US 1 (2.25 mm) 40” (100 cm) circular needle or DPNs, or size to obtain gauge. Optional, US 1.5 (2.5 mm) needles for colorwork section.
