Steadfast
Slender and graceful, but with cumulative breadth, the many single strands of spun fiber flow onward, held together and buoyed upward by the strength of a steadfast friend. Those steadfast friends, named Cables (themselves knitted together in their own spiral dance) are calm, constant, mostly predictable, and always afloat on the sea of life…
This fully reversible, one skein scarf is a joy to knit in luscious 100% yak down. Although the many cables may become slightly monotonous, your anticipation to drop those stitches on the final row and see the design emerge (as you unravel them all the way down to the cast on edge) will keep you faithful in your knitting until completion!
Yarn: One skein Reywa Fibers’ Haven (100% yak down, fingering weight). Samples shown in Spring Rains & Turquoise.
Needles: 24” (or longer) US 4 circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge
Notions: 38 stitch markers
Finished Dimensions: Approximately 54”x 6” after dropping stitches and before attaching fringe.
Gauge: 40 sts in stitch pattern = 4” before dropping stitches (be sure to count the purls, which are hidden by the ribbles).
Gauge is not crucial for this accessory, but it will affect dimensions and yardage.
