It started out with a single skein of super bulky yarn that I had been given as a gift from my daughter. It was a beautiful yarn, and needed a special hat to show it off.
I loved the way the hat turned out, and was really looking forward to wearing it. But, my daughter loved it more! And it was gone. So I had to make another.
This pattern is both charted and written for both a bulky and a super bullky yarn.
The Cascade Covington and Alpine Wool were for the bulky versions, the cobblestone and white colored hats respectively. The Covington knit a little more dense fabric, and the alpine wool a little loftier, and stretchier.The Bodega Pastures is a nice fat yarn. The fabric will be much denser on the super bulky, and very warm.
In the end, I did get my hat back. My daughter chose the cobblestone colored one. I hope you enjoy the pattern, whichever version you choose.
