This is a classic with a literal twist, its hem and cuffs made as strips of cabling--a great way to start cable work, if you haven’t done it. This sweater suits men or women equally well, with its warm collar and graceful details. Here, it’s made in two colors, but it could as easily be made in one. The hemline cable is made to start the sweater, and fitted loosely around the hips. From there, pick up seven out of eight stitches and, working on circular needles, increase to the chest measurement within the appropriate lengths, working the details out on the work sheet provided.
The cuffs are done just like the hemline. The big, warm collar takes a #4 circular.
