This quick project uses only 50 grams of yarn. You can use any fingering or sport yarn that you have.

This pattern is simple to make, using only knit and purl stitches. The cowl is knitted flat, folded in half and sewn at the cast-on and bind-off edges.

The cowl has a 3 stitch rolled edge on each side and it goes once around the neck, but you can make it longer if you like by adding two more balls of yarn (to wrap it around twice).
