My sister and her family are all big Pittsburgh Steeler fans… I made these for them for this for Christmas and to wear to the New Years Day game against Baltimore. This is for them and all the Pittsburgh Steeler fans in the world!

I was able to knit 2 child hats and 2 adult hats from the yarn indicated, with a bit left over. If you want to have pompoms, you will need to take that into consideration. You choose the order of the colors. I made the ribbing sections all different so that each hat was different and distinctive for the persons.

The color method used is called Helix knitting. It allows you to create single stripes of a color without a ‘jog’ at the beginning of each round. Be careful not to tug your yarn to tighten it when changing color and have fun!
